Loan Period and Material Limits14 Days: New Books
21 Days: Audio Cassettes, Books, Compact Discs, Periodicals
28 Days: Bins of Books
7 Days: Videos (VHS & DVD)
Overdue Fines
The library charges a per day overdue fine to encourage the prompt return of materials for the benefit of others, not to punish anyone. Fines accrue per item per calendar day with the exception of days the library is closed. Per item fines are 25¢/day and Bins of Books fines are $1.25/day. The maximum overdue fine per item is $5.00. If your fines and fees total $10.00 or more your borrowing privileges will be suspended until the charges are paid.
Returning Items
Books may be returned in the bookdrop at the front door of the library or the bookdrop located along the back alleyway.
Renewing Items
Any item may be renewed for the standard loan period unless it is reserved for someone. This renewal may be made by phone or you can view your account and renew items from our online catalog. For additional renewals or to renew overdue materials, items must be brought to the circulation desk.
Reserves/Holds
Items currently checked out may be reserved at the circulation desk in person, by phone, or by using our online catalog. You will be notified by phone, email, or post when your materials are available for pick-up.
Release of Minor's Record
The Michigan Library Privacy Act prohibits the release of a library patron's record to anyone other than the patron. A parent or legal guardian of a minor child may complete a "Release of Minor Child's Record" form at the circulation desk.
