The library’s historical collection offers materials that enhance understanding of Michigan and the Upper Great Lakes area. Of special interest is the Ohle Collection, over 1,000 historical publications about Michigan and surrounding areas. We also maintain a collection of local newspapers on microfilm, dating to 1878. Other highlights include vertical files of newspaper articles and other documents, cemetery records, historical photographs and postcards, scrapbooks, yearbooks, historical city directories, and materials relating to local and area Indian tribes.
