Jay and Beau Silver are brothers who teamed up with Eric Rosenbaum to create +JoyLabz, a company that produces #MakeyMakey , the invention kit for the 21st century. The MakeyMakey works like a computer keyboard. It's called a MakeyMakey because when you're using it, you Make + Key—you're making a keyboard! They call it "the invention kit for everyone," and its uses are as endless as your imagination

Lucky You… you get to play with one

Euchre1-small

Readers earn a stamp on a record card for every 15 minutes that they read to one of our dogs.  When he/she has earned 4 stamps, they will receive a "Pawsome Reader" tag to wear as a necklace or use as a zipper tag.  If readers complete a second card, they get a “Pawsome Reader” dog tag.

The theory is, that by reading out loud to the dog, who doesn't judge how well the child reads, the child’s self consciousness disappears and she gains the confidence needed to become a better reader.

Readers will need to schedule a 15 minute appointment at the Youth Services Desk or by calling 231-758-3112. Open or cancelled slots will be available on a first-come, first served basis.

There is no charge for this activity
