Genealogy: From the Past to the Future
Carol Goodenough, of East Jordan, will give a presentation on the significance of genealogy from early history. Carol has been doing genealogy for over 40 years and has been running her own genealogy/ research business for over 20 years. As the modern history of genealogy unfolds, Carol will add her personal background in family history research as she explains how she used to do genealogy and how it is done now. The advent of the computer and the Internet changed the research techniques forever.

Although Carol does not have a crystal ball, she will try to forecast the future of genealogy, particularly mentioning the significance of genetic and DNA research. She will also discuss what a professional genealogist does, and how she might be able to help the patrons of the Library in their own research.

There will be a “question and answer” time after the presentation, and participants are encouraged to ask questions relevant to their own genealogical research.

Admission is free and open to the public.
