Vote for your favorites in the 8th Annual Teen Choice Book Awards

teens_choice_vote_300x250_2015Every Child a Reader (ECAR) and the Children’s Book Council (CBC) have announced the addition of one new category for in the 8th annual Teen Choice Book Awards, the only national book awards program where the winning titles are selected by teens. In 2015, the new award category is Teen Choice Debut. The five finalists for each of these awards have been determined by selection committees comprised of librarians, educators, booksellers, and children’s literature experts appointed by Every Child a Reader; winners will be determined by votes from teens.

This new award is in addition to the existing Teen Book of the Year award, and will replace the former Author of the Year, in which finalists were determined by national bestseller lists.

The finalists for the Teen Book of the Year were, again, chosen by thousands of teens via voting conducted by Teenreads.com.

Teens will determine the winners for both categories of the Teen Choice Book Awards by voting online at ccbookawards.com from now through Sunday, May 3, 2015. In 2014, over 1,200,000 votes were cast online by young readers. Winners will be announced during the 96th annual Children’s Book Week (May 4-10, 2015

In lieu of voting online,, children may download a paper ballot or pick one up in the Children’s Room, vote and return the ballot to the Youth Services Desk by closing on Saturday May 2 and we’ll submit your vote.
