In honor of May being Mental Health Month, North Country Community Mental Health, Petoskey District Library, and the Petoskey Film Series are partnering to show the film No Letting Go (2015, 1hr 44min) on Wednesday, May 23, at 7:30 p.m. at the Carnegie Building.
No Letting Go is a dramatic, independent feature film adapted from the award-winning short film, ILLNESS, and based on the real-life story of producer and co-writer Randi Silverman and her family. The film is a heartfelt look at one family’s journey to understand and cope with the erratic behavior and emotional instability of their middle son.
This year’s theme for May is Mental Health Month is #4mind4body. It is focusing on the whole person and making use of the tools and resources that benefit minds and bodies together. Further, it focuses on what individuals can do to be fit for their own futures no matter where they happen to be in their personal journey to health and wellness. NCCMH is presenting this movie to bring awareness to mental health and it’s broader effects on friends, family and loved ones as well as the importance of family and community support.
