The Petoskey District Library has digitized many of the past Petoskey high school yearbooks. We are providing unabridged, historical access to these resources as a means of historical study and research. The Petoskey District Library, however, does not condone any content that is offensive in these books, nor do these reflect Library’s mission, values, or policies. It is our hope that we can look at these through a contemporary lens and encourage a learning community with the need for discourse regarding the ongoing impact of marginalization in our world, both past and present.
Pre-1923, the Petoskey High School yearbook was titled Hermes, Petoskey High School annual, and the Observer. The Petosegan began in 1923, and we have tried to digitize everything after 1920. However, we do house many of the earlier Hermes, Annuals, and Observers in our Local History Room. Please ask a librarian if you would like to look at these.
We are missing the following years (pre-Petosegan): 1906, 1907, 1910, 1911, 1912, 1913, 1919
We are missing the following years for the Petosegan:
1969 (we have photocopies of staff, sports, choir, band, and senior pages for this year)
1970, 1971, 1972, 1998, 2010 (we have photocopies of staff, sports and senior pages for these years)
The Petoskey District Library is always looking for donations of missing yearbooks. If a donation is not possible, we are willing to borrow and scan any missing yearbooks, before returning them to you. Thank you!
