Kickoff – Tuesday, June 28, 5:00pm on the Outdoor Labyrinth: Join us for PDL’s 2022 #supporttheirstories community read kickoff! Get a complimentary copy of Last Night at the Telegraph Club by Malinda Lo, this summer’s book choice, pick up an action card, and join the Petoskey LGBTQ Alliance for a march through downtown! Flags will be provided.

Intro to LGBTQ – Wednesday, July 6, 12:00pm–1:00pm OR 7:00pm–8:00pm on the Outdoor Labyrinth: Join PDL and Jonny Cameron, community organizer, communications specialist, a queer educator, and one of the founders of Traverse City-based Up North Pride, for an hour talk about LGBTQ 101. Please choose one of the two times to attend. Feel free to bring your lunch to the noon talk, the lower level classroom will be the rain location.

Book Discussion – Tuesday, July 26, 12:00pm–1:00pm OR 7:00pm–8:00pm on the Outdoor Labyrinth: Join PDL for a book discussion of this summer’s read, Last Night at the Telegraph Club by Malinda Lo. We will have a facilitator at each discussion table covering the themes in the book of Race, Nationalism, Culture, and Gender. Participants will get to rotate tables to cover each theme. Please choose one of the two times to attend. Feel free to bring your lunch to the noon talk, the lower level classroom being the rain location.

Film Screening – Wednesday, August 3, 7:00pm at Crooked Tree Arts Center’s Theater (461 E Mitchell St): Join PDL for a film screening of Love, Simon. The first 20 people to arrive will get a complimentary copy of Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli, the book this movie is based on. Love, Simon is a 2018 American romantic comedy-drama film directed by Greg Berlanti, written by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger. It centers on Simon Spier, a closeted gay high school boy who struggles to balance his friends, his family, and the blackmailer threatening to out him to the entire school, while simultaneously attempting to discover the identity of the anonymous classmate with whom he has fallen in love online.

Final Celebration – Wednesday, August 17, 7:00pm on the Outdoor Labyrinth: Join PDL for our final #supporttheirstories event. More details to come. The rain location for this event will be the Carnegie Building, located at 451 E Mitchell St.
