Welcome to the Teen Room

Welcome Teens!

The Petoskey District Library (PDL) Teen Room is a place to nurture knowledge, drive discovery, and connect community. The PDL Teen Room is committed to making our space welcoming and respectful.

The PDL Teen Room is designated for teens in grades 7-12.

Please take the time to check out our resources and our events calendar.

Teen Advisory Board

PDL Teen Services offers our teen and tween patrons (in grades 7-12) the opportunity to bring their energy and ideas to library programs and services. The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) meets quarterly to discuss teen books and video games, brainstorm program ideas, and decide on a community service project. If you are interested in participating, please contact the Teen Services desk at (231)758-3113.

Volunteens

Volunteens is an opportunity for teens looking to help out or earn community service hours in their library.

Opportunities include:

  • Create social media content
  • Help with programs
  • Tech assistance for seniors
  • Book reviews
  • Help put together craft/STEM kits

Applications accepted during the school year.

If you are a teen going into grades 9-12 in the library service area (City of Petoskey, Bear Creek Township, Little Traverse Township, Resort Township, or Springvale Township), and you are interested in serving your community, then this may be the position for you! The PDL Library Board of Trustees has a one-year teen position where the teen will be able to participate in library board business and learn first hand how governmental boards operate. This is a non-voting position.
